Board of Directors
Pat Hehn
DirectorBiographical Info
Pat Hehn recently retired after over 30 years serving the Community.
She was Councillor for Ward 4 for Orillia for eight years. Her commitments included serving on the Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee, the Warming Centre Committee, The Library Board and County Council.
Prior to that she helped found North Simcoe Victim Services and served as the Executive Director for 15 years. (Deb Duncan was also part of the original Board of Directors.) During her tenure as E.D. 300 volunteers took the 60 hour training that they will use for the rest of their lives.
Pat was part of the Steering Committee for Hospice Orillia and served as a founding Director for several years. She was also part of the first class of volunteers. It was through this original Steering Committee that she first met Deb Duncan in 1988. They have worked together on many projects since.
As a result of her work with Hospice Pat saw the need for Bereavement Counselling so took the “Life Threating Illness, Dying and Bereavement” Course at Humber College so that she could provide Bereavement Support in our Community. She was able to do that for several years.
Along with Deb Duncan, Pat was also instrumental in starting the Order of Orillia given out by the City of Orillia.
