The Language of Palliative Care : A guide to difficult conversations with Dr. Boyd will explore common  language mistakes that are often made in healthcare, techniques to help engage families in difficult conversations and explore the concept of dignity therapy and how to tailor our questions to enhance the dignity of our patients.

Dr. Alyssa Boyd,

Alyssa Boyd has been a palliative care consultant in the South Georgian Bay area since 2008.  She is currently the medical director of Hospice Georgian triangle and the lead physician for the north Simcoe Muskoka palliative care physicians group.    She is an associate clinical professor from McMaster University and teaches regularly in her role as the Palliative Care mentor for the Rural Ontario Medical Program.   Most recently she founded a charity called The Living Wish Foundation which grants end of life wishes to adults who are living with a life threatening illness.
